Just What Is Causing Your Acne?
If you want to treat your acne and to be free of it once and for all then you need to be able to understand what actually causes acne to appear in the first place. There are a lot of myths concerning what actually causes acne such as eating too many sweets and other sugary foods, eating pizza and burgers and just having a very poor skin care routine.
But there are no actual research that has been performed to specify that such actions will lead to the development of acne. What happens is that the glands within the skin produce oils and there are times when the glands are overactive and too much oil is actually produced.
If there are times when there are dead skin cells that become trapped in the pores together with these natural oils, then bacteria is attracted to this and as a result acne lesions appear on various parts of the body such as the face, chest and back. You can adopt a healthy skin care routine and also a healthy lifestyle this does not mean that you are not going to develop acne at some point.
Clearly prevention is better than cure, and of course there are many things that you can do to make sure that you doing whatever is possible to prevent the development of acne. This includes making sure that the skin is kept as clean as possible and when you do wash your face it is important that you use a face wash that is antibacterial and will also remove one of the main causes of acne developing, which is the excess oils that are produced.
Another important step that you need to take is to make sure that you are eating healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables, because your skin will only benefit from the essential nutrients and vitamins that are now being absorbed. There is no need to be obsessive with regards to what you eat, just make sure that you are eating sensibly and anything like chocolate is taken in moderation.
The steps already mentioned are not just to help prevent acne but they can also be used if you are currently suffering from acne also. The best solution that you can opt for if you do have acne are the various over the counter products that are available.
But you need to remember that not all products are suitable for everyone and it may take time to see if there are any effective results from such treatments. But if you are determined to get rid of acne and to prevent any scarring from appearing then you need to make sure that you are not picking or squeezing any lesions and in general you should avoid touching your face as much as possible.
Your hands come into contact with many things during the day and if your are touching your face, you simply passing more dirt and bacteria onto your skin. Should it come to the stage that you are doing everything and nothing seems to be working then you may need to seek professional advice from a doctor or other kind of skin specialist.
